DIY Italian Leather Handbags

If you like handbags, it's universally agreed that the Italians design and produce some of the best.  The difficulty is that the price tag is usually top of the range too.  If you want to own a patent leather handbag without the hefty price tag, then why not make your own?  Not only is this better for your bank balance, but you can create a style for the handbag so that it's exactly right for you.

The first step is to sit down and think hard about what you want.  Do you want a small handbag or a big one?  Lots of pockets or one big compartment?  What length of straps?  What colour?  Any embellishments or decorations?  A good place to start is to spend some time browsing a range of Italian leather handbags.  This should get your creative design juices flowing.

Once you've finalised the desired design of your patent leather handbag, you need to start getting together all the necessary materials.  Make sure you allow extra leather for cutting and stitching, as well as sufficient for the straps.

Now, cut the leather into two sections - one for the front, the other for the back and flap of your handbag.  Also cut out the straps.  Place the front and back pieces together, one on top of the other, making sure the right faces of the leather are on the inside.  Sew a hem around the pieces, around 1/4 inch should be fine, so that they're firmly joined together.  You should now have the pouch section of your handbag.

Next add the straps, then add a snap on the front of the handbag, so that the flap can be shut.  The basic design of your leather handbag is finished.  Now all you need to do is add any embellishments you would like, including extra pockets inside the bag, and you're finished.  Your very own Italian leather handbag design at a fraction of the price you'd have to pay for the genuine article!

Field hockey goalie help?

O.k. so I just started playing as a goalie and I absoultey love it. But I am having a couple of issues. The first is my kicker keeps falling off. The back has a snap strap but it loosens over time and then when I kick it falls off...How can I keep it from loosening? My second issue is my hair. I have long, semi-thick, curly hair, but I have short pieces in the front which make it difficult to see. I try to put shorter pieces in clips and use hair spray/gels but my hair is too thick and they fall out. How can I keep my hair out of my face? The rest of my hair just goes in a low pony tail and it usually stays pretty good. Thanks in advance for all answers=D

Get a new kicker? Or just try adding a bit of duck tape to the back strap or something :)
as for your hair, why not get a hair cut? Seems like a simple answer XD if not tho, you could try tying the hair at the front up, even if ya may look retarded after taking the helmet off :P

Bag Week Review: Incase Alloy Messenger Bag (crunchgear?)

**What is it?** So you've already heard about the Incase Alloy Series Compact
Backpack, and perhaps you felt that the style was super slick but you tend to
prefer messenger bags over backpacks. Well, no worries. Incase has a space
pack for every need, including the Alloy Messenger Bag. It's got the same
silvery metallic finish, and fits just as much of your junk, but can be tossed
over one shoulder instead of two. As far as style is concerned, the bag will
certainly attract people with very specific tastes. That silver metallic
finish certainly isn't for everyone, so if you prefer a more weathered or
classic look, this may not be the bag for you. Then again, its construction is
super lightweight, making it easier to pack this thing full of goodies. In
fact, since it's a messenger bag instead of a backpack the material is much
less rigid to where you can probably fit a few awkward shapes in there and
still have no problem.
