Where Should You Get An Office?
When thinking about getting a place to call home for your business it can be a very hard and lengthocess to go through.
Location
You will want to put your office in a location that is actually accessible to people, if people cannot get there how to you expect staff to arrive and meetings to take place. If you have the office in the middle of nowhere then the chances are you will have late employees and no customers able to get into the offices. This means a lack of business as customers would rather go elsewhere that travel to somewhere they haven’t heard of. Who wants to buy a serviced offices in the middle of nowhere.
Think about where people are coming from, does the office need to be near a train or bus station or even an international airport.
Personal Choice#
Make sure you go with what you feel is right as personal choice is very important when it comes to the office. You are going to choose a town or city near you there is no doubt about that and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. You really need to be paying employees enough so that they can actually afford to come in and pay off the bills. Of course here we actually pay for the travel. They have no excuses to be late if you are paying out for the travel and if they are take that benefit away for a while.
Of course you could just get a small office and occasionally hire out something like London conference venues or meeting rooms London.
Remember that this decision is a very important one and certainly one that cannot be rushed. The simple thing is that you will be spending the best part of your life in this office, that's what it comes down too.
What is an average project/hourly charge for organizing a small office?
I have been asked to re-organize a small office and need to determine whether to charge by the hour or by the project? It could take as long as a week. I'd appreciate it also if some idea of what a reasonable fee would be could be given.
I'd think something like $1000-1500 if it takes a week and this is an area where you have expertise. If you were doing it on an hourly basis and it was a short assignment, at least $50 an hour. Probably more if you're in a major city, maybe a little less in a small town or if the business is owned by a friend or relative.
