Birthday Occasion Recipes - 5 Tips For The Good Princess Social Gathering Menu

Love Birthday Cards

You are ready... your princess has invited the belles of the ball to the best Princess Birthday Celebration of the year. You've purchased {decorations}, deliberate just a few video games and have some beautiful take residence items to your guests. Now it is time to plan the best menu in your royal princess and her court. Let's make it so fabulous that the women will keep in mind today after they're planning their future daughter's parties and one that will make your princess throw her fingers round your neck and say, "Oh mom! You are one of the best ever!"

What follows are 5 ideas for you in creating the menu of the last decade for your princess birthday party.

1. Keep it simple. The very last thing you need on a busy day is for you to be running around like crazy making an attempt to make cherries flambé or tiramisu with crème fraise. However, with slightly artistic planning, you may make one thing spectacular and still be able to take pictures of the stunning girls eating your birthday dainties. There are SO many recipes available at your fingertips that are not solely delicious however simple to make with objects you probably have in the home or can pick up in your native grocery retailer at minimal price (one other key!). Considered one of my favourite recipe sites for quick recipes is http://www.freequickrecipes.com, or you'll be able to just punch a reputation of a recipe into your google search field and tons of of recipes will pop up. Simply keep it simple!

2. Presentation is everything. Think about it, mom. A peanut butter sandwich is good, however, make that sandwich and reduce it with petite cookie cutters into varied princessly shapes and you have one thing spectacular. Even simply chopping the sandwiches with a glass into a circle and then reducing the circles in half would work. Show them properly on a glass plate with some red grapes or flowers and it is no longer just a boring sandwich but a delicacy that is a delight to look at AND eat.

3. Throw the "no sugar" rule out the window. Ok, I'll get hate mail for this one however c'mon mom! Your princess solely has the bash of the century annually, so break the rules slightly and supply something candy to eat. Stability it out with a lower sugar drink and different dainties that are not sugar laden.

4. Make the drink pink! Pink lemonade, pink Kool-Aid, pink soda... anything pink in a transparent plastic cup and you will be the good mother on the block. Float a half of a strawberry in the cup and it's possible you'll as properly get a revolving door to your house. You'll be the hit of the neighborhood!

5. Work with a timeline and schedule for the day of the party. A guidelines of what you may be serving and when you'll want to pull it out of the freezer or fridge, what goes where, etc., and the way long each thing takes will insure that you simply won't forget any of the details and insure that you simply won't go to open the fridge for a late night time snack after your princess is in dream land and see the strawberries that you just meant to put in the royal goblets.

The proper, stress free Princess party menu is inside reach, Mom. Just preserve it simple, fancy, tasty and pink! Write out a guidelines and also you're all set for the best occasion menu in your princess and her royal maidens.

Steel Snow Shovel

Reception at restaurant....has anyone else done this?

We decided to get married in a beautiful rose garden (that is overflowing with roses) and then take everyone out to eat at a restaurant for the reception. The rose garden will be free to get married there..so all we have to pay for is everyone's food and the cake. With about 35-40 people, we estimate that the food won't be more than $400. But not sure.

We want to do this because we would like the day to be as simple as possible..without having to go to the court house. We don't want to worry about catering food, tables, chairs, decorations, centerpieces and all that stuff.

Has anyone else done this? Did you let everyone order anything they wanted off the menu..or did you ask the restaurant to make a mini menu just for your guests? What restaurant did you go to? Do you regret not having a traditional reception?
Janis, $2000 to feed 40 people? That's ridiculous. Before we were planning on getting the food catered for 40 people and the cost was only $900 for that.

Oh my gosh - that is exactly the same as what we did (although we had 80 people total). We had the rose garden ceremony and all!

A restaurant is a great idea because you don't (usually) have to worry too much about decorations and usually the food is a much higher standard because the chefs are cooking in their own kitchen. I would always recommend a nice restaurant. As long as you like the restaurant then it will be perfect. And there was absolutely nothing that was not 'traditional' about our reception. We still had food, dancing, cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc.

As far as what to serve - the restaurant we went to had a few options, but we chose to do canapes for starters, 3 alternately served meals (plus an extra vegan option for those in my family who are vegan), then 3 alternately served desserts (then cake and coffee afterwards). We also did a tab for a few different types of wines, beers and non-alcoholic drinks for the entire night. Funny thing is, our restaurant reception ended up being cheaper than any other wedding (even cocktail and buffet style weddings) that we have found out about since. (It was AUD$40 per person for food plus about AUD$1500 for the drinks tab - though we don't have many big drinkers in our families.)

While you could get away with letting people order whatever they like off the menu, I think it may be best (depending on the restaurant of course) to do a selection of just a few of your favourite dishes. This should also end up being cheaper for you and you will know much closer (if not exactly) what your budget will be for the food.

Another thing to think about is the actual restaurant and whether it has room for dancing? And how easily people will be able to see people making speaches. (I personally hate being stuck around a corner in a venue and not being able to see what is going on) Also, some restaurants (like the one we had) let you rent out a specific area of the restaurant (in our case it was 3 rooms that all opened out to each other) so we weren't aware of any other patrons in the 4th, smaller, closed off room (which we also could have rented out if we wanted the entire restaurant, but didn't really need)

Edit: Pre-book the restaurant as early as you possibly can - we actually had to change our original date because the restaurant was already booked up a year in advance.
