What extra curriculars do Ivy League colleges want?
I go to a small school so tons and tons of clubs aren't an option. I will list you guys what I have and I'd like some advice on what I can do outside of school to have a chance at some of these colleges. I have played 2 years of Varsity baseball and perhaps a 3rd, I will have done 2 years of model UN, 2 years of Russian club, worked for 1 year in a program in the inner city to help kids. And this summer I will have an internship at a Bio Chemists lab.
There is only a few more clubs at my school since its so small. There is Gay Straight alliance, Amnesty International, and Sierra club. What would really really look good on my college apps that I can do? Besides academic excellence, high test scores, good essay, and APs,
It sounds like you have really been keeping yourself busy and being productive. I have a few things to suggest that may help you out a bit. You might want to consider doing some more community service. This looks incredible on applications. I suggest being creative about it. I teach less fortunate children how to play guitar and piano, because I love music. Try being creative about what your passion is and share that with the world somehow. Ivy leagues see people who bend over backwards to put stuff on their applications all the time. They can tell when somebody does something just to get into a school. The don't want you to do these things just to get into a good school. Ivy's are looking for a passion. If your activities are positive and they represent you and you have impeccable AP scores as well as standardized test scores and grades; you should be all set. Best of luck!
