Thinking About Your Camping Supply Needs
Failing to take the right supplies with you on your camping holiday can be the difference between success and disaster. Be prepared before you set off, write a list and pack everything you will need. If you are hungry all weekend or don’t have enough dry clothes, a good camping trip can go quickly bad.
nowadays you can get all the supplies you will need easily. You can order just about everything you’d ever want or need online with just a few clicks and some electronic order forms. No longer do you have to make a long haul to a camping supplies store, which are often few and far between.
Visiting a camping shop can be really fun for all the family. You can actually feel and see the quality of the supplies you will be buying. Sometimes an item looks great in a photo, but in real life you realize that it’s a flimsy, poorly made piece of crap. You can ask the staff at the shops and they will advise you on the best supplies for your trip.
You might think about buying all your supplies at a camping store if this is your first trip. If you have been camping for years you might know what you should and should not buy online. Now that I’m more confident with what I’m doing, I order everything online. I’ve found the brands I like, and I usually know what I’m going to need. Using a single duvet cover can keep your more expensive sleeping bag cleaner.
knowing where to get your supplies from is the easy part, knowing what to take is where it gets tricky. This is harder to answer and depends on what kind of trip you are going to take. If you are ‘car camping’ and aren’t hiking with your equipment, you can never have too much stuff. If you have room in your car then take everything you think is necessary with you, if you are hiking, try to really be strict with what you will actually need.
Need help making ultimate college school supply checklist?
I need help making a school supply checklist for college. I am not living in a dorm so I will not need any house/cleaning supplies, but I do need desk supplies and am not sure what to get as far as office/desk supplies, reference books, etc.
This is my first year at college and what I've found to be most useful are spiral notebooks, sticky notes, and a big latex free eraser. A printer is also a big necessity. Definitely get those.
You should also get your normal writing utensils (pens, pencils, highlighter), a stapler, and scissors.
I have a big dry erase calender with a cork space attached and that has helped a lot too so that might be an option for you.
I never really use tape or loose leaf paper (and honestly I haven't used my highlighters too much so unless you have a lot of reading they might not be too important).
Optional are Index cards and batteries.
As far as reference books go, I have a dictionary and thesaurus, but I am usually at my computer so I just look up what I need to on Google. So they are kind of taking up space...
That's really all I have at my desk. Not a big deal at all.
